Modification to new safety rules

By | 30/11/2019

The committee’s objective is to ensure that members can enjoy flying at our field while maintaining safety for everyone.  We believe that if we have a rule then members should abide by them and they should be enforced.  It had been noted that the pegboard was no longer being used and it is accepted that with 2.4GHZ equipment it is not really necessary.  We were led to believe that none of our members any longer used 35MHz equipment so, on that basis, we had decided that we would no longer permit 35MHz (or 27MHz) equipment to be used and we would no longer require members to use a pegboard.

We have since received information that some of our members do indeed still use 35MHz equipment, so our decision was made on faulted information.  As a result, and as we had no intention of preventing our members from flying, we have made a further revision to the rules and will continue to permit the use of 35MHz equipment which, when in use, will require the use of the pegboard by those on that frequency only.

The updated rules have been sent out to all members and posted here on the website.

Thank you for helping ensure safe flying at LMFC.
